March 22nd 1pm: Introduction to the ACM Digital Library
- Explore one of our premier computer science databases in this live session, which will cover the basics of searching the ACM Digital Library. [See the Video Tutorials page for a recording of this instruction session.]
April 6th 3pm: Finding eBooks in the Digital Library
- This live session will cover the various eBook resources that are available to students and faculty, including Books 24×7, ebrary, and more.
April 18th 1pm: Librarian Office Hours
- Take a moment to drop in and chat with one of your librarians! We will be available from 1-2 pm (ET) to answer any of your questions or listen to your suggestions. We’d love to hear from you!
Live Instruction
The University librarian is available to give tutorials on topics such as those listed below. Sessions may be held using Blackboard Collaborate, GoTo Meeting, or similar similar software.
- Library Orientation
- Boolean Search Techniques
- Searching ACM Databases
- Using Resources in LIRN
These tutorials are scheduled at various times each term using the Collaborate whiteboard in this course shell. If you are not able to attend one of the scheduled tutorials, you may view the recorded archive from the last session, or contact the identified librarian to schedule an individual session. While we will try to accommodate individual schedules, please recognize time zone differences and personal schedules vary among students and staff. Individual appointments (up to an hour in length) can be scheduled between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm Eastern Standard Time.
The University Librarian assists students in library research and conducts training on the use of the library resources. You may contact her via email to request assistance or schedule individual appointments via phone or chat room. While we will try to accommodate individual schedules, please recognize time zone differences and personal schedules vary among students and staff. Individual appointments (up to an hour in length) can be scheduled between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm Eastern.
